The Easy Way To Wash Knitwear…

I was taught not to hang wool clothing. Always let it dry laying flat otherwise it will loose its shape

The wool cycle if you absolutely cannot wash by hand, and on 30 °C max. Use only a small amount of detergent. ALWAYS DRY FLAT.
Do not use a washing machine to wash wool in winter, as the water for the rinse cycle will be too cold and the temperature shock will cause the wool to shrink .
When you decide to wash by hand, DO NOT WRING wool items! Lay them on a clean towel on a flat surface, roll the towel up, and lay the item flat on a drying rack.

I’ve always just washed them together, on cold, and laid them flat to dry. I’ve never been to a dry cleaner lol. I have the same sweaters for years now and they’re fine

When I was growing up, my Mother taught me to make an outline of my knits on butcher paper. I'd wash it by hand then put it on the outline to keep it's shape as it dried on the floor.

Turn them inside out for the wash, dry flat. No problem

However it's always better to wash it by hand. Some machines say "cold" and they're not really that cold and they're too violent

I do cold water, hand wash cycle, baking soda and vinegar, take out and put over my shower curtain rack and air dry. I do this for cashmere sweaters and they are like new.

My dryer has been shrinking clothes like no other! We go a kinda new ish dryer from my husband mom and all it does is shrink! I have to on cool and still shrinks

Just hang your woolen sweaters outside a sheep doesn't go to the wasmachine as well... and never hang it, dry flat.
