One thing I noticed about irl Ip Man and Mike Tyson is that we all know Mike Tyson has a very strong punch, Ip Man here has a very powerful kick (possibly being stronger than Bruce Lee’s), Mike Tyson went to jail by (I forgot) It think raping a person? Then Ip Man here killed someone and ALMOST ended up in jail by Yip Man running away. Then Mike Tyson here fought a gang leader, same with Ip Man, he fought a gang leader too.

So basically Ip Man is the Chinese version of Mike Tyson kinda lol

And yes irl Ip Man fought (this has nothing to do with Mike Tyson), so as I was researching about irl Ip Man, he had like way over 100+ fights, Ip Chun said that Ip Man fought other practitioners from other styles in China, Ip Man modified his Wing Chun to counter and adapt to the styles in China, making his Wing Chun more effective than others Wing Chun. And as I continued researching about irl Ip Man, it said that it was recalled by one of his retired police detective partners that the team was going to a farm to arrest these 3 criminals, the gate was as thick as a man’s arm and a durability of 4 fir trunks, Ip Man gave the gate a front or a side kick breaking it with just one kick. Yes irl Ip Man has fought 2 boxers (Wong Shun-Leung and Kam Shan Mao), so the boxer Wong Shun-Leung (after becoming Ip Man’s student) was an amateur boxer, Wong Shun-Leung is like Xu Xiaodong, exposing these fraud Kung Fu masters. Wong Shun-Leung also liked boxing and other styles in martial arts, he stated that he had countless fights with these so-called Kung Fu masters and he made them all lose face proving they’re all talk and no action. When Wong Shun-Leung fought Ip Man, Wong began the attack using fast Boxing footwork and throwing punches at Ip Man but Ip Man calmly faced Wong, Ip Man using forward footwork, used the Taan Da technique and Wong was sent back onto the wall after being punched, as Wong was about to kick, Ip Man trips Wong making Wong fall against the wall and Ip Man then threw light chain punches at Wong’s face and body. Wong was very impressed that he started to learn Wing Chun from Ip Man after the fight, Wong stated that if Ip Man wasn’t good, he wouldn’t have been a student of Ip Man, he said that Ip Man was very good. Now Wong was an amateur boxer, I said in a martial art community and a Jiujitsu guy commented “he is like somewhere in the middle of good amateur boxing fights and bad amateur boxing fights”. Now the Kam Shan Mao boxer was a good amateur boxer, the reason why is because when Wong fought Ip Man, Ip Man was just 61 years old, Kam Shan Mao fought Ip Man when Ip Man was still in his prime years, Ip Man wasn’t 40 yet. So as the fight began, Ip Man TKO’d Kam just one minute into the fight, surely Kam wasn’t just throwing and flailing because a guy was fighting Ip Man and it lasted like way less in a minute, so the guy was swinging widely and Ip Man kept his distance, Ip Man then grabbed an overextended punch, pulling it down and Ip Man knees his chest. Surely also Wong Shun Leung wasn’t also flailing and throwing haymakers because we have to remember that boxing has evolved better as the years go by and in Beimo, a video of Wang Kiu (Wing Chun guy) vs a praying mantis dude, this fricking praying mantis dude was throwing haymakers as the Wing Chun guy was just throwing legit chain punches and not throwing haymakers (ofc the Praying mantis guy got destroyed in 52 seconds). Yes Ip Man has also fought another Kung Fu master blindfolded, it was a Choy Li Fut master, and Choy Li Fut according to Bruce Lee said that Choy Li Fut was hard to defend against since it was more an external Kung Fu style as I researched it and not internal. Now, the Choy Li Fut guy took the offensive side (he wasn’t blindfolded Ip Man only was) and as they were making contact making a bridge-arm, the Choy Li Fut guy attacks was powerful but Ip Man blocked them all. Then, Ip Man was now on the offensive side and now chasing the Choy Li Fut guy, they exchanged punches and kicks, but the fight was declared a draw by one of the judges since they don’t wanna make either 2 hurt more. Ip Man has also won in contest against other Kung Fu masters from other styles. Ip Man has also disarmed a gun twice, so the first one was a military guy harassing these women, Ip Man keeps telling the guy to stop, but the Military guy got so annoyed at Ip Man that he began to draw his revolver to point it at Ip Man, but as the Military guy was tryna draw his gun, Ip Man quickly snatched the gun out of the guys hands and slapped the chambers out of the revolver before the military guy fully drawed his revolver to fully point it at Ip Man (so yea the revolver was still being drawn and not pointing at Ip Man YET) and the fact the military guy was in Ip Man’s melee range which is very stupid to try to draw your gun, the second one is with a criminal, so in an ally way, a criminal was in there, Ip Man being a captain of Foshan Police approached the criminal and as he was walking towards him, the criminal was facing away, and the criminal then tried to turn around to point his revolver at Ip Man, Ip Man was just at the right distance to move very quickly to again snatch the revolver and slap the chambers out of the revolver (so yes again, Ip Man disarmed the gun before the criminal was fully pointing the gun, so the criminal was just turning around to point his revolver at Ip Man but was too late as Ip Man was at the right range to manage to disarm the revolver as Ip Man disarmed the gun as it wasn’t pointing at him YET).

To be fair, Mike is way heavier than IP man, so this fight would probably end up with (film) Ip man getting overpowered by sheer power of attacks and his opponents far superior durability. Real life Ip man rarely sparred and was more of a traditionalist kung fu master. Don’t get me wrong, both in man and his movie counterpart Donnie Yen are incredibly good martial artists, but Mike is heavier and fights in a sport where the focus is purely on combat. Real Ip man may have been a good martial artist, but traditional kung fu just doesn’t work anymore, as humbly demonstrated by the boxer ‘Mad dog’. Wing Chun is good, but you have to train to use it in actual fights correctly, and real Ip man just didn’t do that. Mike beats them both mid diff.

Ip man and mike has fought for 3minutes straight but ip man knows what is his weakness and almost beats him but i recommend its still a hard fight for ip man.
