Hydroid is losing his third ability undertow with his rework. It is a literal water puddle and people are whining like they are losing a loved one. Actually insane, it's just a dumb goofy ability. Touch grass I think.

Other than volt he was actually my first WF and I actually really enjoyed his 3rd. Just so satisfying watching enemies walk up to a little puddle and BAM, drowning! Miss it.

I liked the ability. The only problem I had with it was I couldn't get energy while using it.

it's such a memeable ability they should totally add it back as augment mod

As an old casual player I would puddle for survivability and if you press the shoot button he reaches out with a water tentacle and pulls people in and I would drown the strong enemies

It was actually unironically a nice stealth ability as well. Sure I wouldn't pick this over Ivara or Ash, but it was nice.

Honestly it would have been cool if it was a whirl pool dragging enemies to the center while the kraken forms around the edges of the ability and throws them around

I miss the puddle. I liked being water and drowning enemies.

Willfully ignoring that puddle could click on enemies to drag them in, all abilities could be used while inside, including tidal surge, giving hydroid an easy crowd collector, similar to nidus.
All while completely invulnerable.

Livid this ability is being removed. You could use it to dodge, recover shields (passively or with augurs), recover health (with either reconstruct or augment), aim / charge your abilities, open enemies to ground finishers, wait out your barrage suppressing nullifiers before pulling them out of formation, chain with rolling guard, concentrate tentacles, cancel out of stagger locks which was great with quick thinking, and more.

And I wouldn't be nearly as annoyed if they weren't replacing it with "Vex Armour, but conditional". Which is both boring and bad. What do I do when my shields pop? "Oh hey, wait right there enemies while I cast rain on you, and then wait for the rain to fall, and then wait for corrosive procs to start propagating - oh wait nvm I'm already dead." Plunder is a one note ability with no versatility in it's utility, and it's got no flair, it's just numbers on an egg timer.

Especially mad since all he needed to actually use undertow offensively was an armour strip and a gathering tool. Both of which he's getting, but only right when losing undertow.

A friend of mine LOVES the puddle, because he gets bored easy and likes to AFK as much as possible during defense missions.

I kinda liked the puddle. The issues where many. But the fact people came running and I got more kills than other frames due to puddle aside, I like that it's gone.

Actually you could tactically use Puddle to stun enemies and move using the wave ability 😢 then you could charge the tentacles while the enemies got back up
