What I do with my lava production: 4 crucibles making lava. All feeding into magmatic generators from Extra Utilities 2. Those generators power everything on my platform(s, since I'm following the Yogscast design aesthetic of one-chunk platforms separated by a chunk, though I did strip out the need for bridges, first because I got Viaducts - Futurama-style tube travel - in an early reward box, later because I got the Flight totem), and there's enough overflow that I still have 16 buckets of lava at any given time easily accessible.
Also, not relevant to this series, but another favorite YouTuber of mine, "The True Gingershadow", recently joined the Pixelmon Let's Go server, it's cool to see so many of my fav YT personalities in one place (you, Gingy, Guude, Iskall85, ItsRitchieW).

Wait, why not put absorption hoppers with import busses next to each field in order to collect essences, leaving a couple fields for dedicated seed upgrading.

A tip to get as much essence as possible: Put the imperfect seeds in a seed reprocessor to get 1-2 essence per seed. I got a stack of essence for recycling old seeds.
