Beta oxidation of fatty acids is one of the main catabolic pathway related to fatty acid metabolism. It is an aerobic pathway occuring in the mitochondrial matrix. Beta oxidation actually consists of biochemical steps which successfully converts a fatty acid to 1 acyl CoA & 1 acetyl CoA and in this process fatty acid gives out FADH2 & NADH+H+.
