Here's a look at the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display (Late - 2013) with Intel Haswell processors. This is the new MacBook Pro Retina Haswell with a thinner and lighter design, Thunderbolt 2, faster 802.11ac WiFi and fast PCIe flash.

This is the $1,499 model, with 8GB RAM and 256GB flash storage. Prices start at $1,299 and $1,199 for students.

I have this exact MacBook (8GB RAM, 256GB storage) and it is everything i expected and more. Using iMovie and iPhoto is great with the Retina display, the glass trackpad and gestures are really responsive. Switching from a PC to a Mac i have to say Mavericks is way better than Windows 8 in every way. Plus the battery life is amazing, I was able to watch 4 movies on a single charge. Highly recommend this laptop!

I am still using my late 2013 Macbook Pro 15 inch. Modern Macbooks are have terrible reliability and I don't feel like getting a new Windows based laptop anytime soon.

Just 3 days ago have put an order of 15" model with maxed out specs(2.6ghz, 1TB, 750M) should be delivered on 25th, I'm first time Mac user and hope I'll like this machine:)

Completely agree! I've seen so many people saying apple sucks lately and i disagree.. apple probably has some of the best computers available at the moment and they're decreasing their prices slowly and with the education discount you get even more off. I have had a macbook for 4 years now and haven't had any problems.

I'm looking for a laptop at this moment and as of now, this has everything that I want. I've always been a Windows user, but the Mac is quickly gaining my favor. It's hard to find a laptop with good specs, high res screen, good battery, and an awesome touchpad (did I say awesome??).. Although overpriced, I feel it's worth the money

I hope someday Windows laptops will have the same combo of stuff. I feel a laptop that I want will have everything that I want but lack SOMETHING... although as of now, Windows are ahead in the laptop/tablet department.. will be interesting to see in 3 to 5 years

I have a question, I just got this laptop about a month ago and it seems to only get about 6 hours of battery life using Safari just browsing youtube no games. Brightness is about half way and the keyboard is up all the way. Is this normal?

I am telling you once you go mac you wont look back i owned 3 i macs and they never really had any issues. I currently own the late 2012 27 inch i mac. I upgraded to Mavericks. With apple you get all the bells and whistles you won't get on a pc.

I plan on watching lots of movies, light gaming, anime, etc.
will I be able to see 1080p content in all of its glory or is 13 inch too small to notice differences between 720 and 1080p?
