That must be the smoothest drumstick drop in history. How unflustered he adds an open hihat with the snare hand to cover up the hole in overhead sound and gets out a new stick, all while staying perfectly in the pocket is incredible. He is in the middle of a long and fluid transition when it happens. But he stays in the zone so perfectly that not only the fill turns out just as good as he intended it, but also you can't detect the slightest ripple left by the event on the perfectly calm and smooth surface of his groove. Abe being one of my absolute favourite drummers already before, I just bow to this level of drumming zen witchcraft.
