It's pretty momentous to get new Ellyrian reavers - the first refreshed plastic regiment for the Old World! Also noticed the Sword Masters get an alternative command group to the Island of Blood versions. I think most people have missed that little detail.

The new Beastman is Kralmaw, the Prophet of Ruin. Morghur the Shadowgave is an old character who's arrival / return is prophesied by this one.

Swordmasters appear to have been refreshed too. IOB only had one command group option for them.

The top half of that space is an EXACT match for a clip from the Total War Warhammer Cathay Art work. This is the sort of thing GW do, I have little doubt that Cathay are coming.

Pretty exciting stuff. Cool to see the whole release for High Elves instead of just a mini or two…seeing the blind Beastmen character was a very nice bonus, love that sculpt and the mega creepy familiar
If there was a brand new army that would certainly cement the idea that GW are backing Old World as per their expanding the scope comment. I’ve not played Warhammer Total War so don’t really know much about out the Cathay faction but they do have a cool aesthetic

Did the same as you and ordered some Seaguard, definitely excited that they come with 35 in a box for likely 100CAD which is great. Cheaper than what I paid.

Exciting times for the Old World, and I look forward to the Beastmen releases (can dig out my plastic kits I’ve held onto for this reason).

One tiny correction, that Beastmen character shown today is a new one, not Morghur themselves - although I do hope they bring back Morghur too!

They have also updated the swordmasters of Hoeth as they now have new command figures if you look at the images only the bottom units command figures came in island of blood

With the Sea Guard becoming available, I suspect many people will go for those over the old Spearmen and just clip off the bows.

That is 100% cathay sneak peek. I've used some zooming tool and AI assistance and found the colour tone to be slightly different revealing what looks like horses closely resembling dragon princes of caledor, but ever so slightly different more spikey just like the heavy cathay horses. Further more, there are floating rocks and pyramid shapes that may very well be buildings of the japanese style. There's also something in the shape of spear tips or swords. There are definitely some interesting shapes there when you look at it theough AI scanning tools. But some scanning show what more looks like jungle, thus something lustria esc. But all in all, this was fun to disect and I'm not done quite yet. May even be more than one picture stacked through transparency filters

I don't know what the mystery box contains but it shows us that there is going to be more than just the 9 official core factions. So thats pretty great to see. This game could go in any direction really. Stu you will have seen Warlords teaser for Epic scale chariots by now too I'm guessing. An all round exciting weekend wargames wise.

I would love to see Beastmen get some new sculpt ranges similar to Skaven clanrats and Storm vermin… love Beastmen. But would love to see some new sculpts for Bestigor’s!

I have a feeling we'll see Cathay, Kislev, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Skaven and Vampire Counts ( Last two now that they have/are getting all old models purged by the looks of it.)

For the Reavers, I can really imagine that they were already planned and in development back then and are now simply being rolled out for TOW. Otherwise, they could have just reassembled the Isle of Blood sprues.

Something I've noticed: Not a single photo of Ellyrian Reavers in any of the books, when presenting army showcases, with them now being updated with new kits.That being said, not a single photo of metal Wood Elves forest dragon, so I'm predicting a new forest dragon kit when Wood Elves return. Also, I don't see the High Elf Griffon rider from Island of Blood, and it wasn't announced, so their could be an update coming for that, and if so makes my Forest dragon theory more logical.
