Dude, it's so refreshing to see a science/tech communicator who isn't a dogmatic limousine leftist. I have zero sympathy for either major political doctrine, but I'm so tired of one side always using their position to proselytize and hide from scrutiny.

What all of the critics are failing to recognize, is that you're not making any affirmative political claim, you're simply protesting the claims we get relentlessly shoved down our throats in this community and elsewhere. The fact that this offends people is more of a statement to how dogmatic and sheltered they are than anything.

It would be different if you were telling us what/who to support. That would be annoying, for sure. But you're simply stating the fact that the claims and outcomes we keep hearing about are completely and obviously detached from one another, and that it needs acknowledged.

Artemis just looks out of date to me… it feels like a relic from the 60s and 70s design wise. Such a shame that the money isn’t being spent on Starships which would no doubt be far better value. I suspect that Artemis may only ever do one flight as it will prove too expensive.

Space x is becoming the only game in town. I don't think inflation will be a factor in stopping starship.

If given the opportunity, meaning the FAA clears Spacex for their first orbital flight by the end of March/early April, there is 100% chance that the launch will take place on April 20th. Booster-Starship 4-20 on 4/20... No chance Elon would pass that up if he has any say in it.

30X steel will get more expensive, but will still be a lot easier to get than exotic carbon fibers. SpaceX is still providing essential launch services and will be able to pass much of the inflation on in the long run. Still be better with no inflation, though.
