Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed concerns about cross-border migration from Bangladesh during a press conference. He stated that despite the ongoing instability in Bangladesh, there has been no significant migration of Hindus into India. "In the last month, not a single Hindu has been detected trying to enter India," said CM Sarma, emphasizing that Hindus in Bangladesh are choosing to stay and face the challenges in their homeland rather than migrating to India.

However, the Chief Minister pointed out a different trend among the Muslim population. He revealed that, in the past month, 35 Muslim infiltrators have been arrested while attempting to cross the border into India. This statement highlights the ongoing concerns and measures taken by the Assam government regarding illegal immigration from neighboring Bangladesh.
