Unprecedented wildfires burn in the Arctic during heatwave

The Arctic Circle is suffering from an unprecedented number of wildfires in the latest sign of a climate crisis. With some blazes the size of 100,000 football pitches, vast areas in Siberia, Alaska and Greenland are engulfed in flames. The World Meteorological Organisation has said these fires emitted as much carbon dioxide in a month as the whole of Sweden does in a year

This is more alarmist misinformation.
1. The time period given for the "average" June temperatures in Siberia was 1981 to 2000! Twenty years of data isn't even close to a valid period for comparison.
2. There's zero evidence provided to back up the claim we're seeing an "unprecedented" number of wildfires.
3. There's no mention of the fact wildfires are a natural occurrence and have been occurring for billions of years. They're an important part of the ecosystem.
I urge those afflicted with eco-anxiety to always look at the big picture and realize media are constantly providing alarmist misinformation on natural events.
