Watch THE AUSCHWITZ REPORT now for free:

This is the true story of Freddy and Walter – two young Slovak Jews, who were deported to Auschwitz in 1942. On 10 April 1944, after meticulous planning and with the help and the resilience of their inmates, they manage to escape. While the inmates, they had left behind, courageously stand their ground against the Nazi officers, the two men are driven on by the hope that their evidence could save lives. Emaciated and hurt, they make their way through the mountains back to Slovakia. With the help of chance encounters, they finally manage to cross the border and meet the resistance and The Red Cross. They compile a detailed report about the systematic genocide at the camp. However, with Nazi propaganda and international liaisons still in place, their account seems to be too harrowing to believe.

This movie makes me think of my grandpa. He survive auschwitz before moving on to America. He lost his parents, his brother, both his sisters and a handful of cousins in the concentration camps. He died 2 months ago and I always wanted to ask him more questions about his experience but I was always worried that it would bring up too many terrible memories for him. RIP Zaydeh

Just visited Auschwitz, Birkenau and the Schindler factory last week. So overwhelmed with the stories of the guide and what I saw, that the fact it all happened right there, still has not fully sunk in.

The room with all the hair, the pictures of the children with the dates of entering the camp and their deaths, little shoes amongst a shoe- mountain. All hard to see.

What really made me emotional was a little handwritten note from a father describing seeing his wife and child being taken away, only to shortly after discovering their bloody clothes with bulletholes on a pile of discarded clothing.

Even after seeing it, I still can not wrap my head around the horrors that happened there, but I know the impact of this trip will stay with me forever.

It's important to never ever forget this ! To remember this time, these hell camps, and poor innocent people that suffered, so it can never happen again !!! That's how we honor them. The fact anyone could do this to someone let alone millions upon millions of men, women, and children, all because of race & different religious views is mind-boggling & very disturbing ! Makes think of that scene in the movie "Fury" when Shia Labeouf says "Wait until u see it... what a man can do to another man".

So sad that not enough was done to stop these terrible crimes against humanity.
May all the victims rest in peace. You are not forgotten.

They deserved Oscars for this performance! I wish some of the scenes during the trailer were in the film.

I first thought this movie is about Witold Pilecki, a Polish resistance officer who also wrote reports about Auschwitz, now I learnt something new

It's the same story of an Hungarian prisoner in Auschwitz who escaped and tried to inform the Hungarian Jewish leaders about the upcoming huge transport of Hungarian Jews to concentration camps. He was not believed and the 100, 000+ Hungarians were sent to their slaughter. It is more than coincidence that no Jewish council would "trust" in the authority of escapees. This was in Shoah, this example I mention. The man who escaped was most articulate and energetic and composed and not like a crazed or hysterically traumatized individual. A professional type of personality. He was not "believed" or was he just discounted by those who were "safe" to remain in Hungary despite the transports?

Further reading: If this is a man by Primo Levi.
It's a harrowing first person account of concentration camp. It's a must read; those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
Lest we forget.

Wish it had focused more on the escape and the details of the planning. But still a great film....

To jest moja pasja. Całe życie ide w kierunku zostania komendantem. Nie wiedziałem o tym. Dopiero śmierć i moje wcielenie po niej przypomniał mi po co jestem na tej planecie.

I assume Walter is Vrba? His testimony, & the others on World At War 1972 are terrifyingly accurate
