The Danger of Manmade Traditions in the Church

Religious manmade traditions are dangerous in the church because they tend to become adopted as a new biblical doctrine, just as what the Pharisees did. Their “religious traditional” doctrine caused them to see Jesus and His way that He taught as heresy and not of God. This happens in the church today! There are some who think a ministry is an error because the ministry they think is in the wrong doesn’t do the same traditions as the “accusers” do (such as how often to take communion, how often and how to fast and how to lead people into salvation). When you elevate traditions above the new wine and following the Jesus way, you shut out the Holy Spirit. It’s vital that we follow the Holy Spirit rather than follow manmade traditions. It’s vital that you stay humble, childlike and teachable so that you don’t miss Jesus (through a vessel and in a ministry) just because He’s moving in a way you haven’t seen, and not doing your traditions.

…And you have elevated your tradition above the words of God. Frauds and hypocrites! Isaiah described you perfectly when he said: These people honor me only with their words, for their hearts are so very distant from me. They pretend to worship me, but their worship is nothing more than the empty traditions of men.””

‭I Corinthians 2:4-5 NKJV‬
“And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”
