It could just be that the laundry machine (or powder) used did something to the texture of both their sweaters to the point where neither of them could recognise the feel of their own sweaters and assumed that it wasn't theirs. Not sure about the third sweater Mumei brought back with her though...

nonononono i think chat is onto something here but Bae is too focused on it being an accident. so heres the thing i forget who and who but if i remember right there was a joke one of the JP members said where they wanted to swap someones used item with a new one so they can have that persons belonging. so what if IRyS Swapped Bae's sweater with one of her own and to cover her tracks she further swapped that one with Mumeis. then the long con when Mumei gets her sweater back Bae will be stuck with IRyS sweater not the wiser!

I think a more logical explanation is that Mumei did bring home Bae's sweater but for some reason within the span of 6 months Mumei accidentally swapped it with a different sweater
