Pancho and Lefty - Townes Van Zandt

For the longest time I thought this song was originally written and sung by Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, that is until I took a music history/appreciation class at Interlochen Arts Academy and found out it was written by an artist named Townes Van Zandt. We studied the various artists that covered it over the years (Willie and Merle being the biggest names to put the song on the map). It's amazing how many ways different artists interpreted and performed the song and how the lyrics can take on new meanings depending on the way it's sung. I hope you all enjoy my take on it!
