My mother survived this virus and I was only 6. I have never seen her that sick before she literally could not get out of bed. It was heart breaking to see her like that, especially as a child.

Omg I remember in elementary school we had an assembly about H1-N1. I don't remember anything about the assembly but I remember we got temporary tattoos that had some slogan about H1-N1 on it.

I remember the only thing that changed with this in my life was my sister's college closed for a few weeks (and she still got the virus and quickly recovered).

This new one locked me in a house for over a year, took my job and I have nightmares about the damn thing every night.

I miss 2009.

To show how little of an impact this Virus had overall, I was a teenager around this time and kinda just forgot about it. Meanwhile COVID is something that I could see us remembering for decades...

I almost died from H1N1 was hospitalized for 2 weeks was on oxygen could barely breath they where giving me heprin shots because I caught it in California and had to fly back to Canada because the hospital in California kept saying it was just asthma so I took a prednisone shot and got on the plane barely breathing when I got back to Canada was hospitalized immediately worst illness I’ve ever had in my life
