It’s crazy how minus one would still be a great film without Godzilla

Bro minus one has something that alot of other movies don't.The characters are so well written and the plot goes crazy and tons of emotion put into the movie.

The one thing that put minus one different from other Godzilla movies is that it shows us different perspective of different people... In minus one Godzilla is shown to he a destructive creature... It gives us different look into the movie... It gives us impactful emotional scene and incredible scenes as well

As a movie, Minus one wins. As the kaiju, Shin wins

Shin Godzilla is about shin Godzilla but Godzilla minus one is about the pain that Japan felt after Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I prefer shin because of the way the shots and scenes are filmed. The story is decent and the screen time for Godzilla is perfect. Also it is such a cool Godzilla.

Agree. Minus one is one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Theres not a single wasted scene or beat, everything is spectacular. Pacing, acting, story, emotion, arc/redemption, characters, visuals, and the sound design and score dear god I love this movie

Imo i like shin more. Though i also liked minus one because it was a literal refresher from how bad the mv human characters are. At the same time i wish minus one balanced it out kinda like shin did- some Godzilla, then some human, and it goes back and forth that way. I sometimes even forgot that minus one was even a Godzilla film while watching it.

Minus one as a film alone? Amazing story.
Minus one as a godzilla film? Could need some work like balancing out the screentime.

Unpopular opinion: 1954 still hit the emotions a bit better. I watched 1954 right before watching minus one, minus one did strike fear but 1954 just gives the most depressing and heartbreaking moments, especially it's "prayer for peace" song. No matter how many times you watch the movie, it will always make you cry.

Even every single side character have beautiful story arcs in Minus one like Tachibana, Captain, Kid and Doc too
Their dynamic with Shikishima is awesome
And protagonist is absolutely goated
I really like his character development from a scared guy to defeating Godzilla

Godzilla minus 1, isn’t just a better movie, but a stronger Godzilla as well, despite not being as big or quick to adapt and mutate. -1 is probably the most powerful version of Godzilla outside of the most recent Legendary Godzilla, Godzilla Earth, and Singular Point (Archetypes are fucking OP ngl).

Very respectable! I also think minus is a very good movie compared to shin, but they’re both good in their own ways!

Minus is a good movie ngl but.. shin kinda hits different as it was directed by hideaki anno who was the man that made evangelion, and the movie is abt the triple disaster japan had. Basically i think emotion goes to shin because even tho its not really expressed clearly you can feel that the pain shin faced is referencing the impact the triple disaster left on japan, this also applies to tone due to shin portraying the pain of the triple disaster.

So yeah thats my opinion if you read the whole, thanks for that
