The Learjet 85 aircraft has successfully completed its first flight that marks the start of the aircraft's flight test program leading up to the first customer delivery. The flight departed from Wichita-Mid Continent International Airport and lasted approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Once again the FAA has gone after drone flying as if they actually had regulations to control it. Only last month, an NTSB judge ruled that the FAA did not have control over drone flights because they have not gone through a regulatory process to control them. The Civil Aviation Medical Association (CAMA) representing doctors who perform FAA medical exams, are pushing back against proposed legislation that would do away with a requirement for a third class medical certificate for some pilots. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!

I flew to Sun-N-Fun and camped by the plane for a few days. The provisions for a "fly in" were not good. Food choices were limited. Water and showers were scarce and communal.  The grounds weren't prepared adequately and while the NOTAM was much more in depth than needed about the flying portion, not one word about FIREANTS!

I did see many of the vendors and made several purchases that should have made them happy (not my wife though). The vendors were responsive and as helpful as could be expected. I would have liked to have had some help getting things back to the plane, but no mechanism exists for such issues. I would have purchased more goods while there if I didn't have to personally carry everything such a distance.

The location for General Aviation Camping couldn't be any worse.  Any other category of plane is much closer to everything.  I would have thought that things would have been better.  I will not camp there ever again.

With that understood, I enjoyed my time there and will go again, but I will stay somewhere else.
