The climate wars have erupted in earnest again, culminating in Peter Dutton's declaration that he would abandon the legislated target to cut emissions by 43 per cent by 2030 if he is elected. While that war wages, there is at least an outbreak of peace on another front with confirmation that the Chinese premier will visit Australia.
