Today we explore the IK Multimedia TONEX Pedal for guitars. In the video we try out the ToneX on different guitars like Fender Player Plus and Gibson Midtown Custom, and also bass. Watch the video and see if we get some hyper realistic guitar amp tones with the ToneX?
Let me know what you think in the comments!

Ended up loading three different Mesa tones into the Tonex One and that made level matching much simpler to integrate into my rig. Was using a Mesa, a Bogner, and an Engl but that was not as usable for me.

I've got mine hooked up stereo with the UA Ruby. Fantastic piece of kit!

You think with all the A.I. machine code they could simulate the tone stack of each amp profiled. But from what I hear, like the Kemper the profiles start falling apart once you start tweaking.

I hope they figure out their software issues, I’m still interested in this.

Thanks for sharing! Two questions: does it feels like close to like playing the real amp? (Dynamics.) and did you had the chance to plug it to a real cabinet disengaging the cab sim from the Tonex? I wonder how much the sound is modified?

Been thinking of getting the Tonex and running it through a Fender TM 12.

Is it any good for playing/recording with backing tracks? And can some other pedals be used along? Thanks

thanks for this! sounds good. too bad there are no effects included (like delay, chorus). It also seems that this is aimed mainly at rock/metal people. did you encounter good funk presets too? ambient?

Bought 2 helixes and play an es335, running them into the back of an AER. Sounds horrible.

cool, didn't realise you also played guitar, followed your videos for bitwig/electronic stuff
the tonex is a great piece of kit, especially with the plugin/software integration, makes things pretty seamless between the two units, i prefer 'component style modelling' if that makes sense (fractal for me in this case) as i'm better at dialing in tones that way instead of the potential endless scrolling to find presets

sort of like the presets vs dialing in a synth sort of thing

I should have researched. I had no clue this whole time.that Tonex is subscription services. You have to pay for the tones.

This pedal is just right distortion/overdrive replacement/addition of my pedal board. I will not buy it if it has reverb or delay.

Thank you for the good review. But it was difficult to follow your "englisch".

I think with shadow of doubt the Donner 2000 sounds better but this isn’t bad it’s not as good 😮

Stock presets are worse than unusable for a pro musician. They are offensively bad haha. I do mean this literally; offensively poor/unusable

Dude you should have used a guitar with humbucker pickups. That's what most people are using. The single coil bridge pickup made all of the tones sound like shit.
