We have to know this stuff hands down for electrical engineering. Converting signals into complex numbers/vectors etc. This has been very helpfull, thanks.

I can use the Ti-nspire's built-in Convert-to-Polar function to do this, but I get a value that is entirely resolved. I'd prefer to have the result in the form "r*cosθ + i*sinθ". Likewise, when I created a custom function on my Ti-inspire CX CAF to return the expression "sqrt(a^2+b^2) * cos((arcsin(b/sqrt(a^2+b^2))) + sqrt(a^2+b^2) * sin((arccos(a/sqrt(a^2+b^2)))*i", I get a completely resolved value. Do any of you gurus out there know how to return the intermediate response I cited initially?

Can anybody show me how to use a TX-nspire calculator to convert a complex number to trig notation? I'm wondering if there's a pre-programmed function for this. thanks.
