🎸 This Epiphone '50s Standard Les Paul surpasses its predecessors. The vintage-correct build quality, Epiphone ProBucker pickups, and the inclusion of '50s wiring contribute to its impressive sonic character.🌟

Welcome! I'll be exploring the unexpectedly delightful Epiphone Inspired By Gibson '50s Standard Les Paul. I stumbled upon this guitar through a trade, not actively seeking a Les Paul, but it's quickly become a favourite that I can't resist playing.

I feel that everybody puts you down if you don’t have that GIBSON logo on your headstock. But in reality, you don’t need a 2k guitar to sound good! Great video 👍

I did a little experiment: I ordered this guitar from Sweetwater, and had the Gibson BB 1&2 installed, had it plek’d and had them do a setup on it. I own 20 guitars, including 3 Gibson LP’s, and this is my desert island guitar. I spent about 1200 bucks on it. Would I get that back if I sell it? Nope. Is it as good or better than my $3000 Gibsons? Sure is. It’s a fantastic guitar, and as a bonus I installed the Probucker 1&2 in a guitar I had that I wasn’t a big fan of the pickups, and they are great as well.

I have the same guitar in sunburst and it's a real pleasure to play, currently my No1. Had the 59 standard as well, but had to return it due to a chipped neck and it wasn't even nearly as good quality wise. My luthier wasn't happy about it at all - lesser quality wood he said. I quite like the Probuckers, but after your comparison, I might swap them for the Toneriders... or Mojotone. Cheers!

Nice guitar and great playing, Andy! I have yet to try any of the ‘Inspired by’ range but they’re clearly highly rated. I have an older Epiphone (2015) Les Paul Standard Pro, which is a very good guitar and weighs 8lb 3oz - as heavy as I go 😂 No serious mods yet but in time …

I've got two Epiphone "Inspired By Gibson" Les Paul Standard 50's, the Metallic Gold and the Sweetwater exclusive Lemonburst. Both are fantastic guitars.

Love it Andy. Great feel as ever. It’s the player not the plank! 😊

The great thing about the 50s version is it has the Probucker 1 & 2 set which is relatively rare compared to the ubiquitous 2 & 3 set. And yes they have A2 magnets tho the wind sets them apart from the various, more famous Seymour Duncan counterparts, they've got their own bite.

Too bad Gibson forgot that a 50's Les Paul Standard had a LONG NECK TENON, Epi didnt!

I got 3 of the 59 standards Epiphone and I got a custom sliver burst I don't even pick up the Gibson the pro buckers coil tap sound better in the custom than the 59 burst with gibson custom buckers I did polish that satin finish off those 59s to glossy now they look as good as they sound why they sent them out as "aged finished" hahaa yeah right lazy finished but i love em you got a point

Problem with Les Paul's is finding one that isn't a boat anchor. I won't play one that is over 9Ibs because after 20 minutes standing with one its just a nagging pain in the lower back.

Love my 50s LP and I own a 1982 Gibson gold top custom Les Paul I like the epiphone more its 4 pounds lighter than the Gibson I think the Epi weighs 8.3 the Gibby weighs around 12
