“That person... is me”

And that’s when I realized that there was 30 minutes of video remaining

imagine playing a game and getting a world record speedrun and nobody being able to beat it because nobody else can play it because you are the only one with a copy of that game

I like how he refuses to dump the rom yet he expects someone else to give up his unique password that he needs for free.

$3, 000+ was actually a LOT cheaper than I expected and im pretty shocked that auction didn't have more buyers. It's quite possible NO ONE who actually went on that site even knew what the hell this game was or that it even existed or that it was even rare in the least. There's definitely a lot of luck in you getting that game, but I'm glad you did. 😊

When he was talking about the Japanese travel restrictions, I was seriously expecting him to say something like “But you know what country Japan can ship to? Pakistan. So I booked a flight to Karachi.”

the SECOND i watched him place that game into a checked luggage, i was overcome with an intense feeling of dread and despair.

I'm so curious as to why your brother would put such a rare and expensive item into his checked luggage instead of carrying it in his backpack, where he could personally monitor and assure its safety.

still amazed by the insane lengths this man will go to in order to uncover a video game secret

This man could find a decommissioned Polybius machine behind his local Walmart.

The German guy who had to "get out of the game", had me in stitches. So shady the world of nds modding

Perhaps one of the best twists I've seen in a YouTube video.

Reminds me of my ethics in game teacher, who made a game boy game for teaching kids math (I think) with a small group of independent developers, but has now been completely lost so much so that he can’t find any of the original files even by asking the other developers

Thank you for dumping and uploading the rom, that's the best way to preserve these things for posterity.
I kind of understand why collectors buy stuff like this and sit on it without sharing, but all it takes is a house fire, or perhaps a relative discarding 'junk' after the owner dies, for these things to be lost forever.
I really enjoyed the video too, very well-paced and suspenseful.
It was fun to follow the twists and turns of the journey of that cartridge, and really cool to think that, thanks to your generosity and sense of community, I now own a little piece of it.
