Certainly, yes! It's a great thing. If you're lucky to find some nicely lighted objects, like Brest-Litovsk highway, with lights, cars, trucks and adverts, it will be a great picture.
My tip: begin to fly at dusk, when car ights are on, but sky isn't completely dark - you will have some lit objects in a frame.
Your night photos of Varna are great.

Any video tips for flying Mavic Air at night? Use Cinelike or Normal?

Do you have any suggestions or tips on getting in focus for those of us with phantom 3 pro? Is there something like tripod mode? As far as I can tell there is not a way for me to focus on a particular point. Seems to be more problematic when I shoot at night. Thanks, Alex.

Hi Mike,
just one - as I feel - important hint: Fly your drone at night with one ore two strobe light flash beacons in order to find it in the sky once you lost track of it. Even better and where I live (in Germany) even mandatory (plus a special permit) are three lights (left: Red, Right: Green, Back: White, just as every airplane has to have it. A manufacturer of these small bright LEDs is Firehouse Technology. They come with a small battery attached to it to be charged by an USB connection. They are only 18 to 22 $US each or so.

Hi, I a, m a new pilot.

I thought tripod mode is more for sensitivity control of your drone from your controller and doesn’t mean it keep the drone more stable.

There is no reason to set it to tripod mode for night shot as long as the windy is not too strong...

Thanks to clarify..

Mike, I think I’ve experienced every situation you mentioned in your tips as a negative during night flying, especially wind and the long exposure issue. I’d love to know how many minutes of flying and filming it took to get to your end results you published. Awesome tutorial as usual.

Excellent tips for night flying.
My problem is when I turn the drone in a night it’s extremely dark on a camera do I need to change the night filter to bright the outside light .
My package come with 3 Lens cover but I don’t know which one works better.
I couldn’t find any good Actual video from DJI to walk you through some some basic and Advanced setting mood on DJI flying app.
Everyone show there background or sitting at front of the camera talk zillion hour we need the real time app video for more setting.
May be you should make one!

Very nice, good tips. We will be in Bulgaria in few weeks, it's good to know there aren't many restrictions about drones, i bought my mavic air few weeks ago so we will give it a try in Sofia

does DJI Mavic Air take better photo shot than Mavic mini? And is Mavic air better flown at night since it has collision avoidance mechanism than Mavic mini?

Awesome tutorial. One question. What ISO do you suggest for nightime. And also do you suggest just single shot, HDR, or AEB? I have a Mavic Pro but am sure would be the same.

Great video! Would you recommend flying a Spark at night? I understand it doesn't allow you to use RAW, so would it still be worth it? Thanks and hello from Uruguay!
