Sorry, this just doesn't engage with where AI is now. W. could hardly have imagined artificial neural networks and CHATGPT, and I have little doubt he would have seen its potential to become both intelligent and in some sense sentient. You treat "forms of life" as some static assemblage of pre-existing pre-conditions for meaning, instead of as something itself dependent on history and, in this case, technology. Most people I've encountered who fear the Singularity don't think AI will be a *human* intelligence--and that's just the problem.
