In this video I will show you how to stop your screen from flickering while watching YouTube videos. This issue is prevalent in Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome, Opera, Brave Browser, and Microsoft Edge.
Steps To Fix Screen Flickering While Watching YouTube Videos In Chromium-based browsers:
1. Open your Chromium browser of choice.
2. Navigate to the top right hand corner and left click on "Customize and control (your browser name here)". Customize and control is at the top right hand corner of your browser and is displayed as one of the following icons depending on your browser:
Microsoft Edge = Three horizontal dots
Brave Browser = Three vertical lines
Google Chrome = Three vertical dots
3. Click on "Settings"
4. A new tab will open taking you into your browser settings. Find a magnifying glass icon or a search box and type the word "hardware" without the quotations.
5. You should now see System settings with three togglable options. Toggle off the system setting "Use hardware acceleration when available".
6. Close your browser by left clicking on the X icon at the top right hand corner of your browser and then reopen your browser or click on the word "Relaunch" next to the toggle to close and reopen your browser automatically.
7. Load a YouTube video of your choice and you should now experience smooth viewing experience without video/screen flickering.
