A sudden rise in coronavirus cases in South Africa has scientists warning that two new subvariants can reinfect those who have recovered from a previous Omicron strain. The new variants, labelled BA.4 and BA.5, appear to be more transmissible than the already highly infectious parent strain of Omicron. But so far, these new variants do not appear to cause higher rates of serious illness.

At this point people are psychologically immune to these kinds of news.

As long as there are people who benefits from this pandemic, it will never go away.

I was infected with omicron in late December of 2021 and was sick for a month straight.. I never felt in danger but it wasn't pleasant at all. It was a horrible experience! I can't imagine how these new variations will impact people🤒

I hope the people there in South Africa stay safe and recover from it.

Next thing they might tell us is that there's a subvariant that can turn people to zombies.

I'm from Cape Town, South Africa. Life seems normal and not as bad as the video suggests.

I know experts are saying that the infection is not severe. But honestly, try not to get infected at all. Because even though your body can withstand it, the unpleasantness is seriously real, people!

As long as 2-meter social distancing rule stays effective, variants are without impact on the prevention. They are carried by only human.

And then those subvariants will be mutated to become subsubvariants and then the cycle goes on with the subsubvariants.

I thought the BA.4 and BA.5 are whats fueling the rise in cases in the USA.

Vaccination remains protective against severe disease and death.. provided you’re still alive and kicking 😆

No so-called commentator or politician can tell you when, or even if, the next mutation will be scarier.

Nah, just blame everything to the unvaccinated even if people make poor health decisions.

SARS n.1 stayed with us only from November 2002 to July 2003. (8 months)

Why?
Because there was no global internet and social media that time.

Now?
These narrative will stay here endlessly.

Greetings from South Africa, where those I know who had the vac got sicker than those who didn't get it.
