Aurora is a fantastic artist, my absolute favorite. She has been mention by people like Katy Perry, Doja Cat and more. Even Billie Eilish has said Aurora inspired her to become an artist.

Aurora is an ARTIST she feel so deeply, even in this video that you watched she was a teenager but already such a developed artist, I recomend watching the other song she sang in this same event “12345 (murder song)”

At that time (2015), Aurora wasn't easy performing live in front of an audience, so she immersed herself into her songs. The result is mind blowing to me, this way to express with all her being all these emotions, including her so beautiful singing. The fact is that she is really capable of belting hard, as she has shown in some of her performances, but most of the time (with most of her songs, for which she wrote the lyrics and music herself ), she doesn't, because the song and her own feelings don't demand it. There are a lot of variations in her performances, but the quality and the beauty are always here, as it seems to be simply "artistic expression in the moment", and never showcases of abilities (well, that's my impression, nothing else). An interesting thing to know is that in a way, she's technically a dancer: she's completely self taught at singing and song writing, but she took dance lessons from 6 to 16. But her priority seems to be her song and its meaning, that she created and wants to convey as she feels and lives it.

A thing to notice - no autotune here. Aurora floats naturally out of "perfect pitch" which makes her sound human (since nobody has absolute pitch like a machine). Being a quarter-note out of pitch is absolutely beautiful (Aurora has stated that she at times uses that on purpose - like a guitarist or violinist bending the strings to create tension - and for an old dude growing up before tuning - it is bliss.

She also has an advantage over most: She wrote the words - she wrote the music (with collaborators), she arranged it (with collaborators, and she produced it (with collaborators). She knows the song - because it is her own. Thus she can perform it. Interestingly - she is also perhaps my favourite cover artist of all time from her very limited catalogue.

Finally a fun fact: She was pure young here so she was a bit nervous about introducing herself to a live audience of some 20, 000 people and a TV audience of around 200 million people around the world. Thus, she brought an emotional support pine tree cone.

She is really a great songwriter and singer, there is no one that compares to her IMO, she is just the total package of talent. She is also authentic, unique and quirky, her fans are called Warriors and Weirdos and she is the Warrior Queen. Hope to see more Aurora on your channel, thanks for a great reaction.

I love this Artist :). She is fantastic: unique, very expressive, very into the song, empathic, with beautiful voice tone. She is not only singer but also songwriter, (co)producer, composer etc. She is from Norway, but she write her song in English. She started to write music from 6 years old and make lyrics from 9 years old. And she did it on her own (without any help or musical education - even her parents did not know that she make music up to her 14). This song she wrote when was 11.

And she has a lot of great song, not like one or several hits or good song but more like great song after great song:).

Well spotted, indeed, Aurora is often that deep inside her performance. You saw her coming back to our world as the song ended. She is different, in every way. Every song, every performance, different. She sees the world in a different way, a genuine observer and this shows in her lyrics. Her Nidarosdomen Concert is a masterpiece. Nearly and hour of sheer beauty.

She wrote this song when she was only 11 years old, and at that age she didn’t quite understand the meaning of the song, but as she grew older she knew that home meant home to her parents.
It means a lot to her, and it’s her breakthrough song. It’s also one of few songs that are about herself.

Funny you should mention Billie Eilish, because she decided to go for it when she saw the music video of “Runaway” when she was about 12 years old. And when Aurora won a music award last year Billie sent her a video message gratulating and thanking Aurora, really sweet message (it’s on YT)

Wiki... In an interview with The 405, she said: "It's weird how this song fits into my life more now than I ever imagined when I wrote the song myself. It's about how important it is it's having a soft place to fall."
I'm a huge Aurora fan, and this song helped me overcome the death of my wife by creating a place for myself to fall softly.
