I have a real memory for costumes. Denny's Martian costume was previously worn by Henry Gibson on "Laugh In" and by Billy Van on "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour". Some of the other costumes were used on "Laugh In" too. That tells me that they were rented from Elizabeth Courtney Costumes (run by Bob Mackie & Ret Turner).

And it looks to me like Screamin Scott's rhinestoned shirts were probably made by Nudie's.

Now that's a party! Glad Jerry finally got in.
I definitely see the Star Wars influence, but maybe they were also paying tribute to the sci-fi movies of the '50s, too.
Some of the costumes and make-up sure look that way.

This skit was hilarious and no doubt the inspiration was the bar scene from Star Wars. Loved the costumes and makeup. I do remember this song just never saw it done quite this way lol.

Perhaps this skit and the cantina scene in A New Hope were both inspired by a real bar in which actual extraterrestrials mingle.
