they can ask you to step out of the car for "police saft" but that is it. they can just do the traffic stop with you outside and then send you on the way. I don't see any reason why this officer thought that having him step out would increase his safety... it was all just a bruised ego that led to this. This man should not have a badge.

That officer just lost his job.
1) Didn't provide the reason for the stop.
2) Refused to give his name when lawfully asked
3) Refused to call his supervisor when lawfully requested.
4) Busted window.
5) Using unreasonable force.

Shareef Lewis, the trooper, literally wrongfully arrested and physically assaulted an LT from another town after this... and the LT won 1.3 million. I think they finally fired him after that, but stated Shareef Lewis did nothing illegal here.
