Personally, we should be more concerned over faux privacy channels (i.e. Techlore, Surveillance Report) than AI manipulating people. Those channels put viewers into a false sense of security by telling them it's okay to trust Apple & Google products, despite the numerous news articles that say otherwise. It's one thing for people to continue using these spyware devices when they're aware of the dangers, but it's another thing to use them when channels falsely tell their viewers "you can achieve privacy by trusting these software toggles".

technically if you actually scan for it then you will find it.
just it's not broadcasting a bluetooth beacon i bet, it's similar to how the wii system did it but i have an app on my phone that will allow me to actually spot the wii's signal even though under normal circumstances you wouldn't be able to see it.

I'd reframe 'proactive vs reactive' crime in a slightly different way: it's outrageous that the EU is presuming that someone's guilty because they have an encrypted phone. There's nothing wrong with wanting privacy, especially in the modern world, and it should absolutely be a basic human right.

If someone asks chat bot for a marital advice AI should tell him/her to get a divorce just to save the other person in that relationship from an idiot :)
