I want someone to create a tone deafness simulator. In the same way photographs can be filtered to show what colorblind people see, I want to know what tone deaf people hear. I want to know what Beethoven’s 5th Symphony sounds like through my tone deaf friend’s ears.

What's _really_ interesting is that even people who are "tone deaf" still often enjoy music; Alexandra seems to be a good example. Also, there are degrees of "tone deafness" from the mild form (an inability to reproduce a tone correctly) to the rarer, more severe form Alexandra seems to be demonstrating, which only shows up in about 4% of the population. It is in this group where One often finds that music is indistinguishable from noise... yet, Alexandra seems to enjoy music. I would be interested to hear her discuss what music sounds like to her.
