The best school experience I had was when a young teacher went "undercover" to see how her sub really treated the students, as this woman was awful and was straight up verbally abusive to kids. In the middle of class after getting berated by her the teacher stood up and kicked her out of the classroom and reported everything she witnessed to the Super intendant. We never saw that sub again and that teacher became the chill teacher who everyone loved

Omg! Yes subs get so confused sometimes when you're on campus. When I taught high school and went on a field trip with my US history kids (we went to see The movie Harriet in theaters) but not my world history kids. I was in the room setting everything up for them. They were so confused.

To be fair, it's good that she's wary of any adults entering the class. You never know these days.

Someone who has that attitude with you and then becomes real nice once they realized they were wrong is not a nice person

This happens to me a lot when random subs are like “why you in the class” and I’m like “it’s my parent’s…”

With all the violence in schools, I want a sub doing this. I honestly see the school office buzzing people into the building without asking why they are there or even looking at the screen to see who is entering.

I think the substitute has every right to be wary. After all, it is their job to protect the students. If an adult is there that they don’t recognize, they have ever right to be defensive and ask questions

Edit: the title says “sub yelling at teacher.” I do not sense any raised voice. Just attitude. Which is not even that much considering there is a person in the room that (to the sub) should not be there in the first place

Mine got confused today. Walked in and walked out before I asked him back. I was leaving in the 10 minutes. 🤣

The sub having a strict and worried tone is a good thing when an adult who doesn’t say anything or introduce themselves, just walks into a classroom. Safety should always be a priority!

They really be acting like they rule the classroom sometimes 😂😂

At least you know she's looking out for your classroom.
Usually I would go with the comment if they're rude at 1st and they're nice you know they're usually rude but in this case I think there is an exception.

When I had subbed at other classrooms, they always said “you Sarah?” Every time ended up being a long time joke lol 😂😂

I went into a class to do math intervention with 2 of my students. The sub yelled at me and told me I needed to take more students and tried to send me 5 more random kids who don’t need math intervention.

I thought it was fine for her to question who was in the classroom. Besides, why would the original teacher be there if there's someone already subbing for them? I'd be confused too and I'd be annoyed if I was given the wrong room number.

I would've been like... " you can go because I can just tell that your gonna be a witch"

It's good that she did do it though because if it wasn't you and it was intruder or something she knew what to do and didn't just go on a fool on attack mode

I remember doing that to a coach that I had mistaken for a student. Thankfully, he was just flattered that he looked so young.

At least the sub is paying attention to who enters the classroom. Lol.
