Exceptional in covering common mistakes and hints on the coiling loop orientation. Keenly demonstrated various techniques using 'slip knot' and 'wrist wrap' Glad you put the rabbit-hole-shrub concept to bed, which leads to multiple errors. Valued slowing down your pace and repeating methods multiple times. Truly appreciated the initial orientation using the bitter end as most applicable to sailboats' usages. You were real and not too polished! Thanks greatly.

The meat is at 3:50 to 4:22. Good video, lots of explanation about the mechanics of the knot and troubleshooting. Helped me quite a bit thanks!

Single best bowline instruction I've seen. The observation of having a practical orientation when learning this not is so key. A great video! Nice work.

Great, you have cleverly showed all the mistakes I did myself at one point or another, and helped me get this bowline consistently right from now on!!!!

Thanks for this video! I had watched several others and just got confused. In your video, you were actually tying to something, that made all the difference in my understanding! I've got it now! Thanks again!

I used to struggle with tying a bowline around an object back in the day (when I was in a situation that required me to tie it away from myself) but figured it out on my own. Thank you very much for making a video on it & explaining! Blows my mind how more people don’t touch up on this, because it can definitely be confusing. If you can remember that it has to be an underhand loop instead of an overhand, & the loop has to be on the inside (facing towards the tail) you’ll never be confused again! FYI: You can use the overhand loop when tying the Slipknot/snap method, but I’d stick with the underhand for muscle memory, because it can look funky if you are used to throwing your rope around in only one direction. (Clockwise or counter)

This is the best instruction for the bowline knot, for a newbie like me. I have looked at videos and asked an ex military man physically show me how to do it at a picnic. I practiced it several times, but like Ryan said it was demonstrated backwards in a hypothetical example, so when it came time for me to use it, I couldn’t do it. I know it’s partially my fault, because I’ve never had a chance to use it. So your instructions were awesome. There were some comments that said it took over 19 minutes for this knot, but this video was perfect for newbies like me, (actually the first knot took under 2 minutes), thanks Ryan, good job!
