Canon 5D mark III Preview and Thoughts - Video & Filmmaking

In this video I discuss, in depth, the features of the new Canon 5D Mark III and give my opinions.


I primarily discuss its video/filmmaking features since I am a cinematographer.

There are a lot of things you "absolutely need" to be a filmmaker. Those would include: passion, a strong vision, intelligence, charisma, good leadership skills, etc. One of the things you absolutely do not need is to own your own camera.

You decided not to buy it? Let me tell you : if you are a film maker, you absolutely need to have this canon full frame. Why? Cause cinema is 24x36, colorimetry, etc.
All other brand of camera are toys side by side. So, can you tell mie why you decided not to buy it? I am a filmmaker and I am curious about your point of view.

Hy Dude..sorry but in some point you are wrong:

12min. recordingtime comes from the FAT32 format = aprox. 12min -> 4GB and 4GB is the bigges filesize in one you can store in FAT32! Thats the reason not the TAX law. This europan Tax Law fix the 29, 59min recordtime for NotVideocameras!

You can´t record movie on both card at the same time. This only for stillphotos:

50 ISO is only in photomode.
