Crucial is not just about blazing fast computer RAM. Did you know they sell portable SSD drives?
In this video we look at the two solutions offered by Crucial. The X6 and X8. The X8 being a super fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 SSD with speeds up to 1050mbs. The X6 measures in at almost 500mbs read and write speeds using USB 3.1 Gen 2. You won't be disappointed with the performance, durability and heat handling of these SSDs. Use on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox, Playstation, etc.

how come from amazon website, it says up to 800 MB/s for the X6? People are posting the speed results as well.

Thank the X8 is NVMe is a huge plus. Their website doesn't mention it at all (at least I didn't see it). Which is why I googled looking for the differences

Thanks for your video! I was wondering if you tried the X6 with the USB A dongle to see if it also drops or stays at 400 or 500 mbp.

I believe speed in reading of X6 has changed now up to 800mb/s. Now there is no big difference between them.

Thank you for your servicew sir! We need to use a Thunkbolt dock to get full speed or even a USB C docking station.

If you were to use the type A adapter on the X6 it shouldn't affect it much right. I'm looking for external storage for my Steam Deck and I'll be using type A port most of the time

Does this lowering of the X8 performance will happen with any dongle? Or is there a certain brand that can actually handle its full performance? Thanks

Thank you, but you have assumed everybody knows what a dongle is.

Not so much the dongle as the actual speeds of the usbA vs C ports.

Here is my experience with the X6.

I bought the X6 4TB which cost me $569 CAD!!!! First time buyer of Crucial product. The one I received clocked about 35MB/s, more than 25 times slower than advertised. So ok, I have a defective unit.

I contacted Crucial and after a bit they agreed to send me a new one. Except, when it arrived, I had to pay for duties because they put the full value on the invoice, which cost me another $90. This was not what I experienced with returns from other companies over the years, where it is usually indicated that this is a replacement for a defective unit. So I called the company and was told it is "company policy".

So ok, another $90 bucks gone, but at least I have a new working unit; WRONG!!!! The new unit was the same as the old one. So after almost $700, I am stuck with something that belongs in the garbage. Nice work, Crucial. I have tried on several computers, Lenovo(i7, 7th generation) win10, Surface Pro 6 with i7 win10, and another win7 desktop.

So I downloaded the firmware thinking it could fix it. Both the online version and the iso version couldn't even find the X6 when it was connected. I don't know what to do now....

Sadly I don't think the X6 works on PS5.
