I will never get over the fact that Dance in the Dark was not a single. It deserved it so much.

- The album was announced on June 14, 2009 at Singapore.
- The album was initially to be part of a re-release of "The Fame", but Gaga announced that the new songs would be available as a stand alone EP.
- Monster was the first song that started the album's concept back in March 2009.
- Telephone was originally called "Underground" but later revised to "Telephone"
- Gaga wrote Telephone for Britney Spears but her team declined it.
- Gaga asked Beyonce to be on Telephone after their collaboration on Video Phone. Beyonce recorded her vocals on October 13, 2009 in Japan.
- An unreleased song "Candy In Control" was rumored to be the early version of "Monster" because of a lyric used in the same song.
- Monster was supposed to be the lead single but scrapped once Bad Romance was completed. It was rumored to be the second single but Telephone was released instead.
- Dance In The Dark was supposed to be the next single but Interscope chose Alejandro instead. It was released in Australia, New Zealand, and France as the album's 4th single.
- Speechless was written by Gaga for her father to seek the medical treatment he needs for his heart condition.
- Gaga stated she wanted to make Speechless a single in an interview but it was never released.
- Speechless was Gaga's favorite song on the album.
- Teeth was originally supposed to be called "Show Me Your Teeth"
- Her fears each represented a song on the album:
