"Ich liebe dich sehr" would be a more normal phrase to use, "vielmals" is moreso used in the context of thanking someone (Danke vielmals). But "sehr" and "vielmals" both translate to "a lot", so its common to be confused by them

I never expected someone to say this.
Vielmals = many times/often/sometimes it means very much
"Ich liebe dich (so) sehr" = I love you very much/ I love you so much
That is what I would say if I use high German. Don't know if he is using a dialect, just found it funny.

As a German you wouldn’t really say: “ich liebe dich viel mals” you just say “Ich liebe dich” or “Ich liebe dich so sehr”. But still really impressive how many languages he can speak

Actually nobody in germany would say "ich liebe dich vielmals. We would say just ich liebe dich or ich liebe dich so sehr🤣

My first language is Portuguese, I speak English fluently and have passable Spanish... I also know a bunch of words in different languages, but they aren't enough to carry a conversation. So I'm able to say "hi", "yes", "thanks", "good morning", things like "moon", "rose", "city", or song titles. Sometimes I use these words randomly... and then people think that I'm a native speaker and start talking to me in their language. 😅
