Pick up APA Simplified on Amazon!
It can be difficult to know what you should capitalize and WHEN you should capitalize it, which gets to the heart of the issue of sentence case vs. title case in your APA style paper. In a nutshell, title case is when every important word is capitalized, and sentence case is when only one (or a few) words are capitalized - like in a sentence! This has implications for how you talk about a book or article in your paper, and how you write the title of your paper.
This video covers a professor’s advice for differentiating between sentence case and title case in a 7th edition APA style student paper.
The video is presented by Dr. Mark Hatala, a Professor of Psychology at Truman State University, and author of a number of books on APA and MLA style.
