One trick I learnt from a Australian sniper is to piss in jars and if a enemy found you throw the piss at them

50 BMG is not usually a sniper round. They are anti material/anti tank rounds. The most common sniper round worldwide is 7.62x51 or .308 Winchester. If they need more range they might go 300 win mag or 338 Lapua magnum. But not usually 50BMG. So yes, that rifle is a sniper rifle

Hearing that 308 isn’t a sniper round from you breaks my soul 😂😂

The only sniper trick that I’ve seen that really impressed me wasn’t even a sniper thing, it was when “The White Death” put snow in his mouth to mask his breathing from enemy snipers

For my deployments, our unit had 1 .50 cal rifle. The rest were more "standard" rounds. The .50 usually stayed back in the fob in the tower and only came out for very specific missions. It isn't really a practical weapon to use as much as people think. And from what I have heard from other people on deployment (mainly army) a lot of units don't even have a .50 in their armory at all. (except vehicle mounted of course)

… the 50 BMG idea isn’t realistic. Those rifles weigh a ton, and are hard to carry around. If I’m not mistaken they run .308 Winchester usually, as well as similar rounds
Edit: I’m glad to see the community talking about it. Learned some stuff, but also learned I wasn’t necessarily wrong

308 is very very common for US snipers. But recently 300 win mag, 338 6.5 creedmore and other calibers have become popular. It used to be that the 308 was predictable and easy to train people on. So out went the 30-06. But now technology makes it easier to train people on any caliber so as long as it makes sense logistically it’s going to be used

They sometimes use .50 BMG. Alot of the time they actually use .308's. some of tge ways they hide themselves is essentially making a ghillie suit for their guns too. Essentially the idea is to hide lens of the scope.

That’s got the same energy as the guy who made a video about how to open velcro pouches without being detected and he just screams over the sound of the velcro opening😂

My grandfather said during World War II that they used to wait till airplanes went flying overhead and the noise would block out the noise of the sniper

crazy trick I heard, a massive suppressor

Simo hayha ( the white death) was a Finnish sniper in the winter war against the soviets, he was 5ft 3in which helped disguise himself from the enemy, he would pack snow around the barrel of his rifle to lower the fog kick up caused by the muzzle fire, he also chewed snow to stop his breath from being seen in the cold, he used iron sights (to not give off any scope glare and to keep his head lower to the ground), he ended up taking an explosive round to the jaw was presumed dead, ended up surviving and tried to join the next war which he was excused due to his injuries, throughout the 100 days he was in battle, this man recorded a little over 500 of his own kills

But also I do think it could be realistic if they were trying to take out a high priority target, with something more along the lines of a 300 win or 308 win, because 50 bmg gives you more range but is mainly an anti tank, and heavy armor piercing round. So it is smart to use machine gun fire to cover up a quieter report (compared to 50 bmg) so that your sniper doesn’t get got.

One other trick if you get spotted is to remind the enemy that you're a sniper and they can't see you. They legally have to leave you alone after that.

silencers have been real quiet since this came out💀
