Totally awesome. Pink Floyd at their best. This is a piece of musical art. Amazing masterful musicians. Rogers is a musical genius and Dave is the finest master guitarist ever. I have had the privilege of seeing of seeing Ping Floyd live if concert 3 times, as well as meeting David Gilmour in person and actually playing guitar along side of him, with him at Hyde Park in London in 1997. I have rare live outtakes of this song, as well as many others, including unreleased versions, demos, etc that I am going to upload to YouTube.

It’s always great to hear a bands original creation for a song. They always sound the same but they tweak it as they progress through it and in the end we hear the final results.

I am happy that David Gilmour made yet another try in the studio to make a more interesting guitar solo for the outro. This would only work - so to speak - if the end of this track was about to be bridged to another track (like the band did with the tracks on the DSotM album). The guitar solo in the final version does express more the feelings from the lyrics. A forcefull desperation that still search for the last stray of hope, so I read the music.

The outroes on pigs and dogs are much better on the end product. I still love to here an alternate version.
