After all a bridge is a valid military target. It would be hard for me to count how many gun camera videos I've watched of US aircraft bombing bridges.

The bridge blast could just as likely been caused by Russia's own munitions packed into a conscripted truck by poorly trained personnel who didn't properly secure the load. Note that the truck is starting to climb an incline, which could have caused the poorly secured load to slide. The quick assumption that Ukraine was responsible overlooks other possibilities, but I could understand why Putin would be embarrassed to admit he blew up his own bridge.
