With Java installed, we can move on to how to download Forge in 2023. You can find a link in the description above to our text tutorial on how to get Minecraft Forge in 2023. This is important because even if the process for using Forge changes after this video is released, this article will still be updated.

Once you are there, click the ‘Download Forge’ button to go to the official Forge download page. On this page, look at the right-hand sidebar and select the version of Forge that you want. Then, click the ‘Installer’ button under download latest. This will take you to a page where you want to wait about 10 seconds. Then, click ‘Skip Ad’ in the top right. Forge will start downloading. You may need to keep or save Forge depending on your browser.

Next up is how to install Forge in Minecraft 2023. With Java installed already, this is super simple. Just double-click on the Forge file you downloaded. When you do, the Forge Installer will open. Just click on ‘Install Client’, and click Okay. When you do, Forge will start installing.

The only reason that Forge won’t be successful is if you’ve never played the version of Minecraft you are trying to get Forge for. If that’s the case, go play it. Or, Forge may not install if you have Minecraft or the Minecraft Launcher open. If you do, close them both, and reinstall Forge.

Once Forge has successfully installed, close out of the installer.

Now, all you need to do to use Forge in Minecraft in 2023 is open the Minecraft Launcher, click the arrow next to the play button, select the Forge installation, click Play, and click Play again on the window that appears. Minecraft will now open up running Forge!

I'm having trouble when trying to install Minecraft Forge 1.20.1. I click play on my Minecraft launcher then a progress bar appears that shows "preparing" and then "finalizing". For those who get exit code 1 like I did, install/update your graphics card driver.
Scroll down to troubleshooting on the forge installation website as it will differ depending on your graphics card.

It's nice to see super-useful videos with also a text alternative. Keep it up, you did good. This is our only option during times when Authentication servers are rejecting 3PA in our network. It was a great help since this weekend I couldn't use anything but the Vanilla Launcher to launch forge. This process also made it easier for me to get my fabric stuff into the VL! Great :3
