I Can Guess Your Age MIND READING MAGIC

This is a fun trick you can do on your friends to convince them that you're a mind reader!

I love these kinds of magic tricks!
I know this comment's coming 7 months after the upload, but here's how the trick works:

The number you picked, call it x, is first multiplied by two, then you add 5 and multiply by 50. This is equivalent to multiplying x by 100 and adding 250. Then, when he asks you to add either 1765 or 1766, your number should be:
100x + 2015, or 100x + 2016.
Note how multiplying x by 100 sort of isolates it in the 100's place. This keeps it from interfering with the results of people who are 10 years or older.

So, when you subtract the year you were born, you're left with 100x + (2016 or 2015) - (year you were born). If you've had your birthday this year, then 2016 - (your birth year) is your age. It is not your age if you haven't had your birthday yet, so that's why he asks you to add 1765 instead of 1766.

The interesting thing is that this video will no longer work in 2017 or later! If you are 100+ years old, then the video will also not work. I love these sorts of tricks though, because they use (mathematical) misdirection to make you think it's magic :D

If you are 11 years old this 2017 it will not work it only works in 2016 because it will guess 10 but if your 12 this year it will be correct

math... this puts you at the age you were when it was made btw so if youre one above thats cuz its 2017. this was made in 2016 so its set for that, you have to add 1 for every year its after 2016 (for 2017 +1, 2018 +2 etc)

Step 2: subtract it year by your date of birth year

The age part only works for 2016, so if you get the age you had in 2016, it technically worked for you

Uhhh, I showed this to my great grandfather who did this with me. He’s 102 and so you didn’t guess his age. You did guess mine though!

I figured it out, it comes at the end where you add either 1766 or 1765 to your birthday, you must add to this how many years past 2016 this is. For example, next year in 2020, you need to do 1770 and 1769

(x * 2 + 5) * 50 + 1766 - birthday = 100x + (2016 - birthday) = 100x + age. Cause age < 100 and x < 10 the first digit will be x, and the last two will be your age (for example 100*6 + 19 = 619).
