In this thought-provoking episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, physicist Brian Cox delves into the reasons why scientists believe the known universe extends far beyond what we can observe. He explains that the universe's continuous expansion and the constant radiation from the Big Bang provide clues. However, Cox highlights that the theory of inflation offers a deeper explanation, suggesting the actual universe is vastly larger than the portion we can see. This discussion provides a fascinating insight into the vastness of the cosmos and the limits of our current observational capabilities. Join Cox and Rogan for an enlightening journey into one of the greatest mysteries of astrophysics. #BrianCox #JoeRogan

Our sensory tech has limits, such as the speed of light. We can only see so much distance from our position and nothing we see defines a hard limit.

Think about how much we CAN see and then realize how insignificant of a vantage point it is

The universe is everlasting & has NO WALLS. IT IS INFINITE, people. Infinity = ♾️. Never ends. It’s inconceivable to the human brain.

The universe is bigger than we can see for the same reason the price of bread has gone up.

It wasn't a bang like they think.
When there is nothing on this plane or level when something is put there it causes an energy

"Why is it that we think that the known universe is larger than we can observe?"

"The best way to explain the universe, the properties that we see, is that it's very much bigger than the piece we can see."

So the reason we think it's bigger is because it's bigger than what we can see. Wow. 😐

Ok hold up Joe Rogan asked this question in the most redundant and nonsensical way he possibly could have the known universe is what we can see, everything beyond that is unknown, just the way he phrased that is weird, the appropriate phrasing should have been “why do we think the universe is bigger than we can see, ” because Known implies we’ve observed it which means the Known universe CAN’T be bigger than the observable universe until such time that we see galaxies drift beyond our measuring capabilities, at THAT point the known universe becomes what we know drifted away from us and the Observable universe is what we can still see

The real question is why is it we're all pretending Joe Rogan isn't mentally challenged?
