Great choice. I have a '21 Ninja 650 and love it, having upgraded from 20 years of Ninja 250Rs, which were a lot fun most times. This bike can handle a lot more situations, especially going up hills and able to accelerate without any problem, unlike the 250Rs. 0 to 60 on the Ninja 650R is 3.5 seconds average, which is fast. Top speed 131 mph. Kawsaki's are very reliable for me, over 72, 000 miles on them combined. Great style to this bike too. Enjoy!

I don't think anyone needs to explain their reason for getting a 650 to be honest. Its really juat a solid street capable bike that any sport rider would want in their garage. They're comfortable, torquey enough to have fun with but not out of control on power, and they're light. Its pretty much the class of bike that you can rest at forever unless you need somrthing for a very specific reason, like a heavier high cc touring bike for more long highway trips or a true supersport for actual track riding. Hope your still enjoying it.

Ive had a 21 plate 650 for 6 months, blown away by just how good it is, coming from a cbf 1000 this is light, agile, and great fun, if your thinking of getting one do it, best bike ive had.

I'm glad you brought up insurance cost. A lot of people don't think about it. I currently have a 2009 concours 14. I do enjoy the bike, but some days the weight of it gets to me. Also, its very hard NOT to do 100mph on that bike. I wouldn't say it is to fast, but the temptation is always there to speed. If something happened to it, I would probably pick up a Ninja 650. All I do is commute, so it would be perfect for me.

That exhaust makes it sound GREAT! I thinks she's comfortable, fast and affordable enough to be a long term keeper. There are more powerful bikes but the N650 has all the power you NEED I think.

I picked up a 2021 Ninja 650 last year-completely pleased with it just like you and most ninja650 owners.

Yes. You can handle the power. It simply won’t do anything unless you tell it to do so. Not needing it or wanting it available is one thing. But it will not just take off and do anything unless it is you choosing to go to fast.

My first bike was ever was a new 2007 650R and I had it until last month, so owned it for 15 years. I honestly was kind of sick of it, the style, the sound of it. Last month I traded in the 650 for a cfmoto 700 cl-x sport, a neo-retro cafe-racer style bike with 2 riding modes and cruise control, i know cfmoto needs to prove themselves over the long term but I love the bike so far, plenty of torque and just a great all around feeling.

Calling a 3.5 second 0-60 a slow bike is peak American haha

I'm 228lb and 6ft, and I went with the Ninja 650 for the exact same reason at the time. I have buyers remorse a little after the ZX-4RR got announced and released.
But I think im the same..im content with it. If youre a new rider then its fantastic. Fast enough and sporty enough in its riding style for learning on and have a bit of fun.

Fell in love with the 650r as soon as I saw it. First bike was a 06' Ninja 650r, then bought a 13' Ninja 650 a few years later, now sitting comfy on a 17' Ninja 1000, that I've had since 17. Love it

Hello, I noticed that you pull on your clutch at every turn. Is there a reason for that ? Couldn't you just take the turn as is, only pulling on the clutch when you see that a stop is coming ? I'm a beginner going through my courses and I want to learn as much info from experienced riders such as yourself. Thanks !

it feels like the best of both world. you've got the comfort of a cruiser, the get up and look of a sport bike, with the tech of say a ktm for a fraction of the price (including insurance). I am more of a putt around and look at shit kinda rider that wants to take off fast from a red light and drive the speed limit once i get there - far away from the cars you just left in the dust. seems like a killer bike and you cant knock the torque thats for sure.
