There's a much easier way. A towel and a hot iron removed the water spot from my table. It's on YouTube and it works! I just ironed the spot out in a few minutes.

Camphorated oil applied to the rings will get rid of most white rings on furniture. For stubborn rings use a small brush apply liberally and leave overnight. The next day rub off the excess and polish the furniture as usual.

I'm going to try this, but in my case my kitchen table is from a decent furniture company, but sadly the top seems like not real wood? Or like a cheesy stained wood overlay? Not sure what to call it. But it's like a sponge for the coaster-challenged. (Ex: My daughter destroyed her nice actually expensive bedroom nightstand by placing 3, 5, sometimes 10 drippy glasses all AROUND the many coasters I put there! What is THAT?! haha).
