Pentax 17 Overview

So I waited patiently like a Munchkin until Pentax released the 2nd stock in Japan the First batch went out quickly and I did not have the energy and money...here we go again to get it unfortunately same as PC graphics cards ppl just sold them for ridiculous prices and I had to say I ll wait until the official distributors such as Map Camera/Kitamura/LemonSha etc etc started to sell the 2nd batch...

thanks to Map Camera I was able to get the 2nd batch
and this is going to be focused on the overview of the camera *not fully shooting with it since if I include into this video it will be 1hr long hohoho...as Santa would say hold your horses Im still working on it so in the meantime the overview video...

also has my advice for people at Pentax to couple of areas to improve....the shutter can fire when the lever is stored flush...
the recessed lense hood that can accommodate dirt dust
please ASAP make the mode dial much more harder to turn since it can automatically change when putting in a pocket....it irritated my personality that it moved form program mode to bokeh mode...honesty

Great overview. Some points I disagree is the locking mechanism, it's not needed here sice there's the on/off switch. Not a lot of cameras back then have that, but Nikons do have them and that's why your biased view come from. I wouldn't say it's a flaw. It would be on/off switch or lever lock, not both or it'd be redundant.

The other thing is the shutter, which is a leaf shutter. Most leaf shutter sounds like that, and quiet. It doesn't have a "clap" like the two-plane from focal plane shutter. While I also don't like the sound, it's definitely quiet and to most people that's useful.

I've been working on getting a second job recently so I can get one of these for my Japan trip early next year! This and some slide film will create a very nice memorable experience!
