As somebody who lived in southern Spain for many years here are some helpful tips for dealing with the hot weather:
- stay in the shade
- turn on your air conditioning that you have in your house
- jump in the local outdoor pool that you have on your housing estate
- drink lots of ice cold lager at illegal late night car meets on the beach
- ride a motorcycle in shorts and flip flops
- shut down the whole country every day from 3pm til 5pm and also the entire month of August

Safety issues like fuel spills shouldn't count for time. If the unit burns down the channel is impacted. Rushing around spilled vapor can only go badly.
