Показать описание
We can use counters to find the difference of two integers. We use one color to represent a positive, and another color to represent a negative. To find the difference of two integers using counters, we may or may not need to add zero pairs. We show several examples of needing to add zero pairs, and not needing to add zero pairs to model integer subtraction. When we don't have enough counters to subtract the subtrahend, we add zero pairs until we do have enough. When the absolute value of the minuend is less than the absolute value of the subtrahend, we will need to add zero pairs.
